Cleen Enema is a saline laxative. Saline laxatives work by drawing water into the colon which helps produce a bowel movement. This provides a soft stool mass and increased bowel action. A bowel movement should be stimulated in 1 to 5 minutes, without pain or spasm. Cleen Enema is also ideal for bowel cleansing before undergoing a rectal examination. Plus, it's latex-free. Cleen Enema comes in a ready-to-use, disposable squeeze bottle with a soft, pre-lubricated Comfortip.Therapeutic indications: •For use in the relief of occasional constipation. •For use where bowel cleansing is required, such as before and after lower bowel surgery, delivery and post partum, before proctoscopy, sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy and before radiological examinations of the lower bowel. Each 118ml dose delivers the equivalent of 21.4g (18.1% w/v) Sodium Dihydrogen Phosphate Dihydrate and 9.4g (8.0% w/v) Disodium Phosphate Dodecahydrate. Contains 4.4 g sodium per 118 ml delivered dose. Excipient(s) with known effect: contains 80 mg benzalkonium chloride per 118ml delivered dose.
