Bio-Oil® Body Lotion pioneers a new level of lightness and efficacy in body moisturisation. The product is significantly thinner than currently available body lotions1, yet has a high-oil loading of 42%. This unique combination of being ultralight yet high in oil is made possible by Bio-Oil’s pioneering ‘shake before use’ formulation. Body lotions are popular because they are light and easily absorbed, allowing the user to get dressed immediately after application. They are, however, due to their lightness, typically less effective than creams and body butters. With Bio-Oil Body Lotion we set out to investigate whether we could make a body lotion as effective, if not more effective, as creams and body butters and at the same time make it ultralight. This was eventually achieved with a pioneering ‘shake before use’ formulation design that allows the lotion to be ultralight yet highly effective. Through the unique formulation, Bio-Oil Body Lotion’s clinically efficacious high-oil formulation is delivered in a non-greasy ultralight fluid lotion.
